You may think that I have it all figured out when it comes to eating healthy throughout the week. But Will and I have busy schedules just like everyone else! If we both head to the gym after work, dinner might not get to the table before 8:30 PM. That’s when a service like Kitchfix comes in handy! If you haven’t guessed, as a food blogger and dietitian I am pretty picky about my food, but I was happy to see that Kitchfix checked all of my boxes.
- They use organic produce and try source things locally when possible.
- They use local pasture raised chicken, eggs, and pork.
- The beef is local and grass-fed finished.
- They purchase sustainable seafood. The white fish and lake trout in the entrees are from Lake Superior.
- Everything is gluten free with many paleo and vegetarian options as well.
- Everything is chef-crafted and made from scratch from unprocessed ingredients.
- They have a Registered Dietitian on staff to review the nutrition content of their meals and answer nutrition-related questions you may have.
- All the packaging is recyclable too!
All of the food that I tried through Kitchfix was also delicious! They can make healthy eating convenient with their pre-packaged meals that only take a few minutes to heat up in the oven or skillet and aren’t bland and boring like store-bought frozen dinners. Plus, their menu changes weekly so you won’t get bored. Here’s a few of my favorites from last week:
OMG – the paleo lemon poppyseed waffle was so delicious! I popped it in our toaster oven for a couple of minutes to heat it up after my workout on Saturday. I topped it with some warmed berries from the freezer and some maple syrup. Breakfast made in heaven! Speaking of breakfast, their cashew yogurt was also really, really good.
As a vegetarian, I was happy that there were several options for me on the menu (which changes weekly). However, to be fair to those who aren’t vegetarian, I picked up a couple meat-based entrees for Will to try and provide me with his feedback for this post. He thought this grass fed beef chili was super flavorful – definitely one that he would purchase again!
This mushroom and broccoli fried rice was super easy to heat up in the skillet and the sauce that it comes with is super delicious. I could see myself choosing this dish over and over again for a simple, balanced dinner option that can be ready in 10 minutes.
I was so excited to see this vegetarian paleo pizza with alfredo on the menu. I popped it in the toaster oven for a quick lunch and I was definitely not disappointed. I loved how crisp the almond and coconut flour based crust became after toasting.
